I have an MFA in poetry from Colorado State University where I taught writing and literature for years before clawing my way out of academia. I'm a decent enough guitar/piano/harmonica player and singer, but those are just utilitarian ventures that allow me to write songs, which I've always felt was a central part of my identity. I'm living in Oregon now, though this is my fourteenth state so who knows how long it will last.
