Kathy is a singer/songwriter and has enjoyed playing a variety of music for many years, all while enjoying her family life. She writes Christian Pop and is very passionate with her lyrics and vision she has while writing her pieces. She also can write other genres of music with secular lyrics, which shows her wide range of musical ability. Her main career is working with brain-injured children in an alternative non-profit organization. She also teaches music theory and composition to very young children in an alternative school. For the past six years she has been dedicated to writing music and has loved every minute of it. Kathy sings locally but works for the non-profit company specilized in the health of brain-injured children. There is always more work than hours in a day but her focus is writing songs and looking for others who would enjoy using them for her repertoire.

Songwriter Course Completed

Just completed at the end of summer 2013 a Songwriter Course on Coursera connected with Berklee Music College and really enjoyed it. Very proud of that certificate. Got an interesting song out of it and eventually will download it after I have completed recording it.

Country Rock Top Ten List

Let's Just Have Fun Tonight just made Country Rock Top Ten list. Very Excited! For those who listen to it, enjoy!

RIGHT NOW WHAT IS HAPPENING!

Currently, I work for a non-profit organization which is really an alternative treatment for brain-injured children.

They are well-known for also teaching parents how to teach their children before the age of six - it is controversial; however, well respected in many circles.

That was how I got involved; I taught my children. Got involved with their small demonstration school teaching the young children there and their parents how to write music; and am now a senior clinician who works with brain-injured children.

I have always been a musician taught by my mother who was quite a pianist. But my greatest love was always writing music and after working with the children in composition decided to get back to it. And I love every minute of it. The challenges of working in a nonprofit where there is always more work than hours in a day are greatly relieved when I sit down at the keyboard and put music together.

Having several recording sessions a month with Tom Reock - I say: "As some bat around a tennis ball, I love to BAT AROUND musical ideas."

Nothing like it!

I love to see humor in life; that is reflected in my music.

I am sure many who know me say "why is she writing music NOW?"

My answer: "I have to!"

To all those who hear my music:

"I hope it brings you great joy, much laughter with some music, and lightens the day."

Bio

I was raised in central Pennsylvania. Was taught piano by my Mom. Have taught composition to small children. During the past five years have really spent time writing music and have found I just love it. Just as some enjoy batting a tennis ball around; I enjoy batting around musical ideas. And arranging the songs or instrumentals is so much fun. Have completed two albums and am currently working on completing the recording of my Christmas Cantata. My friend, who owns the recording studio, thinks of it as a rock opera - which I really like.

Christmas Cantata

The most recent project is my Christmas Cantata! It is contemporary Christian with a working title of "Jesus, God's Promises Fulfilled". Seventy-five percent is recorded and the goal is that the entire work is recorded by April. This might be a dream goal; but it is so exciting to see the end in sight for completing this work! One of the original ideas is that a piano solo is included in the work; possibly will add synth to it to make it express more what it is meant to express.

Hi Kathy Myers,
I have been listening to "Most Holy Night" on Broadjam and I genuinely appreciate the authenticity in your sound. It feels natural and cinematic, the kind of vibe that can translate well beyond just streaming platforms.

I work with independent artists to help position their music more strategically, especially when it comes to being industry-ready, refining presentation, metadata, branding, and overall profile structure so it aligns with what decision-makers are actually looking for.

Out of curiosity, are you currently aiming more toward sync placements, or focused on growing your streaming audience?

If you're open to it, I'd be happy to have a brief, no-pressure chat about your direction and explore whether there's a practical way I can support what you're building.

Either way, keep creating, your sound truly stands out.

Hi - Timothy -
It is always rewarding when someone notices your music you write. Just to let you know, I am a 73-year-old who always enjoyed writing music starting in my teen years but no one knew how to encourage me with my interest. When I was 55, I started writing again and have personally produced 5 CD's and am working on my 6th. It is 3/4 completed. This one will be entitled "Patchwork of Music" as I also love to quilt.

Anyway, I never really knew how to market my music and was concerned my music was dated. I have had many different interested remarks, but just so you know most of my music has not been placed on Broadjam. It is on my CD's. My First CD went on Amazon "Seasons of Love" and you can still find it sometimes but again I did not know how to market it.

So my main interest is getting someone to want to use my music. I write both Contemporary Christian and a range of secular compositions - both vocal and instrumental - ranging from country, pop, with classical influence, including some prog rock. One of my prog rock songs is on my music on Broadjam and is called "Secret Place" which was inspired by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. It has made the Top 10 of Prog Rock on broadjam many times. My latest CD has half vocal and half instrumental pieces of music on it much of it written while in Italy (my career has been working with families of Brain-injured children through The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential and twice a year I was traveling to work with the families in Italy).

Please let me know how you could assist me and specifically if there is a fee for your services and what that fee means.

In order to work with you, would I need to have my music copyrighted? What else would be required?

Thank you for your interest in my music.

Thank you so much - have to write and let you know what is happening. I have been on Top 10 before but never in the spot 2 slot - am excited. "Secret Place" is one of my favorite songs - think it is one of the most unique I have written. Write me soon and let me know what is going on with you. You are very busy on Broadjam and LinkedIn. Keep it up!
