Gorgeous pick you have with "Vampire." Very lush, sensual jazz. John
Hi, Brandi. "Never Knew You" is a very good catchy pop piece. I consider "Coffee Shop" a standout as it showcases a lovely melody punctuated with a folky guitar and shows the gentle vulnerable side of you that is easy to relate to. It goes beyond the pop candy and is something more timeless...or another way to put it, it has the "it" factor. Your pop production skills and current sounds are ahead of me. I'm influenced by the sounds of 70s and 80s and focus on very catchy unique melodies and find the story line that fits how the melody feels. No doubt your style and songwriting would easily fit into television and video syncing and broadcasting. Your use of just a few instruments, midi, breaks, and emotive vocals are all interesting to me. John
Hi John! Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to multiple songs and give such insightful and meaningful feedback. That means a lot. Thank you for rating Coffee Shop so highly. It's one of my personal favorites as well. I look forward to checking out your music too. 70-80s is a great era of music and would love to hear music influenced by it to see what catchy melodies you're cooking. I'll check it out this evening. Thank you again!
Hi, Brandi! You're much welcome. I'll take some time to listen to some of your songs again. They're very well written! A couple of my own favorites are "Raindrop Soul," which I consider to be my most beautiful song, and "Stay Here Now," my first #1 Earth which pleased me because it's the story of how Lora and I reconnected 20 years later after college days. Many thanks for dropping by! John
Yes! I listened to "Stay Here Now" yesterday and loved it. That's awesome it landed #1 on Earth! That's quite the accomplishment and has a beautiful story attached to it too. I love stories which is why I love lyrics. I listened to Raindrop Soul today. It's such a lovely tribute to Ulan - a beautiful name btw. I do love the 70s/80s sound. You are quite talented, John. Thank you for sharing!
"It's My Heart" has terrific updated 80s influences, punchy and vibrating with urgent vocals and an easy to follow tune. I like it! John
Gracias John! LC Team
Hey 'Nip, "Help Me Get My Ships Back to the Water (Live@Ft. Lauderdale)" is absolutely GREAT! That's what great songwriting, performing live, and what music's all about. That one deserves a lot more attention! John
John! You take the cake! I just finished your review o f "Gotta find me a woman" and was dying laughing about your eggs and sausage comment! You are a funny man! I will be listening to more of your stuff with Bob B and others. Seems like we've been reading the same book! All the Best from Florida! Catnip=+=
Pat, I love your tunes! I'll head on over to your page some more as well. Best to you from southern California! John
Hi John, I've been reviewing a few catalogs on Broadjam, and your name came up in that process. I work closely with artists on the sync side, specifically identifying what's actually holding strong records back from being considered for placements. I'd like to take one of your tracks through a Sync-Ready Audit. That means looking beyond the music itself and into the details that supervisors quietly filter for metadata structure, registration alignment, and overall pitch readiness. Just a clear breakdown of where your track stands and what could make it more placement-ready. If you're open to it, send me a link to the track you'd want reviewed: wuradigitals@gmail.com Best regards, Wura Digital Services Sync Strategy & Catalog Development
Jim, "Magic Moves" is an excellent instrumental. I've listened to instrumentals from commercial artists, one who I remember in junior high was Tommy Newman, who went on to do movie scores, but even much of his don't have the interest that your instrumentals have. My mind doesn't blank out and leave when I listen to your music. Also, Broadjam isn't the site it used to be and doesn't reflect the quality of your music. Like the Billboard charts, it reflects BJ marketing. Participation is down but maybe that's expected since the pandemic was declared over. I've noticed AI all over BJ, too. It's taken over and it does amazing things, but at a high cost: the loss of the actual human touch and the soul of the composer. Are your tunes getting picked up? With thousands in libraries it seems that would be a crap shoot. Yours definitely has moods that should fit perfectly. John
Thanks so much for the kind words John! I have noticed the same on BJ, that the opportunities aren't as good as they were before. I'd submitted some songs for opportunities in the last year and even got selected for one of them, but the publishers of that opportunity wouldn't even return my repeated email response to them, so I stopped submitting to BJ opportunities. Now, I go directly to the libraries I'm working with which I found outside of the BJ universe on my own. I have had some songs placed with those publishers, but not a lot of placements. I'm trying to finish up this collection of retro-soul inspired tracks and try my luck with these to see what happens. I haven't noticed a lot of AI tracks on BJ but I wouldn't be surprised. As far as I know, most libraries and most "real" opportunities for sync will not accept tracks where created with generative AI. This is why I continue to create my music the old-fashioned way, creating all of my own song ideas and recording the tracks myself. The only place where AI enters the picture is to help me master my tracks (in Ozone) and for helping me come up with song titles. But other than that, it is not being used to help me write my music. The day that sync licensees no longer care about using AI generated tracks in film/TV/advertising is that day that us human composers no longer have a chance. I'm not sure if we're there yet, but I believe it may happen for certain kinds of music.
Boy this ai thing is getting scary to me already. And you 2 guys are sprouting the truth don't cha know! I'm not using any AI yet but curious. I'm coming out with a book written for teenagers that addresses the mess we are in with kids glued to these things and walking into open manholes. Losing our souls? Only time will tell! Thank You both for your input and contributions! catnip=+=
Pat, it is a true pleasure to know you! You, along with a few other good friends I've made on here, are the real deal! AI is interesting and I'd like to throw a couple of songs to see how it gets interpreted but I wouldn't release them. It's far too slick yet superficial. It lacks something. Some of our members who use AI now...I could tell when they wrote a song and their input but now I can't recognize who they are! I'd like to ask, "Where are you?" With so many in the industry, pros, aspiring, and those who are too lazy to put in real effort, using Suno and related sites; are we going to see the Suno's Band's Greatest Hits?...or the Suno Hot 100? I cannot compete with a platform like that but I can tell when the true soul, feeling, and integrity of the songwriter is lost. We are headed there fast. Your book looks like it will be something much needed by our younger set. I'm very much happy and encouraged that you're here and sticking with who you are and what you do, which has much more meaning than what is going on now. John
John, Honestly I thought at first that AI was amazing but my deeper meditations reveal that AI will steal the drive and ambition from most young spirits. Last night I revisited several posts from my own career and saw that more than half have been rewritten by AI. Even tho some are undeniably strong~ it reinforces my belief that AI will automatically reduce the amount of effort anyone will take to produce anything in the future and reduce the amount of healthy thinking that most projects require. This is sad and not what we need! My book for teenagers and everyone else is designed to increase personal Motivation and Momentum to the point of catching on to the caboose of the train. Once someone catches on the caboose, the Super Train Engine will pull them along for the rest of their life! John your intuition and insight are remarkable to me and it comforts me to know that someone else is watching all this from the same stadium I am sitting in! I am in Panama City, Florida, and the book I have been working on for over 50 years is titled, "Train on the Track". "As if by magic, your dreams come true"!
Hi Henry I recently had the pleasure of listening to your tracks on Broadjam, your other platforms, and I was genuinely impressed. Your sound is both authentic and refreshing the kind of music that truly deserves a wider audience. I'd love to learn more about the projects you're currently most excited about and explore how I might best support you in connecting your music with the right listeners, profile review discovery to meet supervisors requirements for active sync and placement opportunities. Let's discuss more if you are interested email: supremoh81@gmail.com Looking forward to hearing from you.
John, thank you so much for listening to my songs and rating them. You have been very supportive of me and I really appreciate it. Good luck with all of your music projects!!
Hi, Jim. You're always welcome. I always enjoy hearing your newest compositions. You're a master at writing catchy, pleasing, and engaging tunes, and your arrangements are superb. John
Very nice pop song with "I Am Trying." With the first eight measures of the first verse, I thought it might be close to a copyright infringement of the melody line of Carole King's "Sweet Seasons," so I listened to both carefully. I would say it's simply influenced but not a direct lift so you're in the clear! The song is a bright uplifting and cheery pop song with really good hooks. Very nice! John
Well thank you for the professional update! LC Team
Hi, Kate! Are there basements in California? Yep alrighty if you're in a basement apartment but maybe that's different. My older brother, Tom, asked me to write a song for him. He loves summer and the beaches which is how I came up with the song which is more about his life. That was a very nice review with personal experiences you gave for "Summer Day." Thank you very much! Bob Bentley was interested in the tune and wanted to play guitars and keyboards on it and I let him run with it. He did an amazing job making it sound like a Doors meets Santana tune. I remember summers in Los Angeles along Santa Monica Bay, too, and listening to the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys, and the Association on the radio going down Sunset Boulevard or walking along Ocean Avenue overlooking the sand. John
You're bringing back memories, my friend! Mrs. Kate - always a California girl (and Michigan, and Florida, and Indiana, and Kentucky)
Hi John Walradt, I have been analyzing the Pop charts on Broadjam, and your track "Raindrop Soul" stands out as a high value asset for commercial sync licensing. However, based on my data, your current reach is hitting a "ceiling" that only professional grade of Growth can break. As a certified music growth and Sync Agency, I don't just "post" your music; I engineer visibility. Most artists on Broadjam have the talent but lack the Industry Metadata and Momentum Scaling required for high paying placements on networks like FOX, MTV, or ESPN. What I'm offering is a high demand Promotion Sprint for [Long Term Achievement]: Aggressive Sync Positioning: I'll audit your Broadjam profile to ensure it meets the technical standards music supervisors demand. Multi Platform Velocity: We will bridge your Broadjam success into a 30 days targeted campaign to spike your streaming and social signals from several platforms. The "Vetting" Advantage: My certification acts as a seal of approval for supervisors who don't have time to sift through thousands of unsigned tracks. The Catch: To maintain my 95% success rate for clients, I only take on three new artists per month. I currently have one slot remaining for a Pop/Rock artist, and your sound fits the current market demand I'm seeing from my licensing contacts. If you are ready to "uploading" and start monetizing, let's secure this final slot Sincerely, Patrick Music Sync Consultant & Growth Specialist
Hey, Scott. The first four measures (the opening guitar riff that repeats itself through the song) is a great hook. It's still in my head. The melody line goes into some new very well written arrangements I haven't heard from you and that's impressive, too! Younger people may see it as deep and philosophical but now that we're at our age, we know what this is about! Hahaha! Kudos for a well written song. John
haha you're right John. I struggled so hard with this Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber tariffed for two weeks that I had to get it out of me somehow so this song was born. I finally resigned myself to it with the help of certain claiming drugs. haha Two hours a day 5 days a week for 40 days at least and I still might lose my foot damn. Sorry for not texting you sooner but my mind has just been racing. I'm going to have to fix the mix and some of the lyric on the first verse and the chamber makes my ear pop like crazy so hearing isn't up to suff for sure. Thanks so much for listen the comments and the stars my friend. Scott
Hey John thank you so much for the promo on the vinyl I really appreciate it . can't wait to hear your final mix on down East in a harbor Town one of my favorites by you thanks again my friend
My pleasure, Scott, and I would love to see your vinyl record make sales. I'm almost through with my mix. My current mix is from five years ago, all muddy and too much reverb, when I didn't know how to mix and tried to get by with cheap online mastering websites. I've started over and cleaned it up a lot. Heck, my drum was off a bit, too!
Hey, Pat you cool cat! Thank you for the listen and stars on "All the Reasons Why," which I co-wrote with Scott Jordan (Ravensong). I think I'm getting the hang of this mixing thing...I'm getting mixes that seem like I'm faking it up to 80 percent up to a reasonable producer, so I'm happy with that! I'll have to get back to listening to some more of your tunes. You really write a lot of terrific stuff I really like! Best to you! John
John the mixing part is what I live for! You can change the feeling of the song easily! After 40 years of mixing, I learn something with every song! If you've seen the Skelton sitting at the mixing board~that's me! P.
John I just saw your review of "Fantasy Time! Thanks for the 49/50! We had a blast doing that in Memphis! That 's the original Memphis horns playing in the background. They were perfect on the first take but did 13 more takes while they ( I swear finished off a fifth of Jack Daniel's,). What a blast!
Wow, finished off a fifth of Daniels! If I'd known that I'd given a 50/50 for heart, soul, and enthusiasm! That's what making music is! I'll bet that was a wild ride and a great time! Great song to go along with it, too!
Hi, Frank. "Moods of Electra" is a pleasant relaxing tune. 2:18 through 2:35 is a beautiful ethereal section that reaches for a feeling or meaning of something greater than our own knowledge with the particularly unique style of melody you're so good at. Your compositions are always excellent with nothing cliche or mediocre. John
Thank you SO MUCH John!! I really appreciate you checking out some more of my stuff. And I REALLY appreciate your meaningful feedback and perspectives!! Thanks again!! Frank

Hi John, Thanks so much for the 5-star rating on my song Spring Time! I appreciate you taking the time to have a listen, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Be and stay well! Frank
Jim, "Backroad Backbone" is very enjoyable. I especially like the jangle styled guitar playing. Melody is pleasantly wistful. Your tunes have the feel of what you write about. "Under the Willow Sky" fits comfortably in a living room space to relax to. Seriously, you could have a couple of albums filled with the instrumentals you have composed the last couple of years and I would love to relax to them every day. They are that enjoyable. Best to you! John
Thanks so much for the encouraging words, John! It's very much appreciated!
I normally wouldn't disagree with the 'Nip because he's an excellent songwriter and I enjoy his music. My take on "Travelers in Time" is that it doesn't need a break at all. The immediate switch from remembering the past then moving to the present feels like a very natural way to think and it flows well with the song. I'd keep it the way it is.
Thanks for input John I feel the same way because the transition works so well and the song is a bit to long as it is. I've been getting some very nice comments on this song which always makes me feel good.
Hey, Jim, well done to have "Hawaiian Moonlight Rendezvous" placed. They made a good choice!
Thanks so much John!!
Mark, cool take on "I Saw the Light." Also, "Searching for America"...is said very well especially for these times. John
Hi John--Thanks for listening to "Revealed" and the stars and feedback. I appreciate your support and look forward to more new music from you! Happy 2026.
Hi, Jeana. You're much welcome. This last year has really been incredible for all of us in our group with great songs. It's stunning! I'll look forward to new music from you as well!
Hi, Bill. I love jazz lounge and do you ever do it right! I listened to a couple of your songs...great stuff! Your melodies are smooth, lyrics heartfelt, and played just as if I was in a nightclub or a late night cafe settling down to the tunes. "Pale Vanilla Moon" is gorgeous. Also, many thanks for your enjoyment of "Greyhound Bus." My songs are very much a travelogue of my life. I delved into jazz once with "He Doesn't Know" but, being a pop songwriter, it still comes off with pop influences. Anyway, I had to drop by to hear what you do and you are a terrific music maker. Best to you! John
Thanks John, I've recently added a few versions that were done in a studio, not my vocals but I think they came out well. Not all of my stuff is lounge/club influenced but it is in my blood. Listened to a few of your songs, sounds like you've found your niche...keep writing my friend. Bill
"Bewitched by You"...great, hooky chorus! Very pleasingly melodic that hits a peak with "Abracadabra, ooo-ooo" followed with lilting measures.
Very beautiful, memorable, and absolutely great song with "Every Word We Say." Music and lyrics say it in a unique way and the arrangement knocks me over. I'd say you found the song you want. It's a timeless classic.
Hi John, thank you giving my song listens and stars , yes a great tool to finish songs I have wrote but never had the means to finish a t pro level , suno , and now the pitches are accepting this finish , open a new era of songs I can put out that I wrote down thru the years. Thanks again William
Hi, John and Geri. Thank you for the wonderful review of "Nature of the Game" where you highlighted the melody and lyrics. I've been listening to all 18 of your songs and going through again. While I do that, I love the beautiful arrangements of your vocals and instrumentation! You do very well with lilting melodies. Your carefully placed arrangements with lovely vocals set you apart from the trend for tough, callous, superficial story lines. Your productions might sometimes be characterized as retro but so are mine, and some people see that as a criticism. To be specific, it means we are influenced by songwriters who knew their craft and were masters at it, instead of song factories made of of marketers who produce for one thing alone: profits. Profits over timeless heartfelt artistry that's about real life. Your songs are as if Lobo (Kent LaVoie) got together with the Carter Sisters with the harmonic finesse of Crosby, Stills, and Nash. They are pleasurable and a delight to listen to. Such songs are as pertinent today as they ever were no matter what the music industry machine thinks. I've done more collaboration this year than ever before. My songs are like a travelogue of my life. I write mostly pop songs. "Nature of the Game" was my first venture into Country. I awoke with a melody last April and knew it was very catchy, rushed to my guitar and computer to compose it and write a few lines within an hour, and rushed it off to Bob Bentley and Robert Quigley, both in the UK. They were really excited. As Bob worked on lyrics, I composed the rest of the melody. Bob played and arranged the guitars and keyboards. It was the most enjoyable collaboration I've experienced. I'm definitely a melody person. My words (I don't consider myself a lyricist) don't always have happy endings and my stories sometimes leave you up in the air, but then that's been life. I consider my most beautiful song to be "Raindrop Soul." I was 49 when I got married after a year long telephone romance which became the Carpenters/America influenced "Stay Here Now." I'll get back to listening to your songs some more. I see you've been on the traveling circuit and in the business so you're review meant more to me than most reviews I see. Thank you for listening! John Walradt
"Nobody Tells You" is one of your best. Stark, honest, saying things that society doesn't want to hear. But that's what creating works of art and songwriting is about: saying what needs to be said. You have to if you're going to say something that means anything. The melody fits the mood very well.
Thank you so much. We really appreciate your insight. We do tend to focus on things that nobody wants to hear but we often feel it needs to be said. Best wishes, Doreen & William
Vicki, you have lovely vocals, great instrumental skills (I wish I had that kind of coordination), arrangements are carefully placed emotionally and with innovation. "Another" goes along placidly then really takes an unexpected unusually beautiful turn of chords and harmonies in the chorus. "Black Cat" is bouncy and fun. Those sorts of things are very good pop strengths. Really pleasurable listens.
THANKS FOR THE STELLER REVIEW OF "I DONT KNOW" JOHN I DID THAT IN MEMPHID TENNEESSEE WITH MEMBERS OF BLACK OAK ARKANSAS A WHILE BACK ALWAS A PLEASURE TO HEAR FROM YOU MY FRIEND! PAT
Good to see you back with a new one, Randall!
Thx John. And for the listen and stars. I'm not on here much anymore but good to hear from you. Hope you are well and rocking on!
