Hi Amos and thank you for kind words regarding my music. Very sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, I've been away and up to my neck with stuff.

I'm not sure what my next move would be in regards to my music ?

Some of my music has been selected many times, but the biggest road block with all of
this is the PITA dealing with the folks that are selecting my material. The legalese is horrible, and nobody will work with me unless it's on their terms only.

All of the "deals" that I have received are "Exclusive Deals" which I can understand, but what
I don't understand is why these folks insist on owning my copyright. And what's worse is these
folks aren't offering me a cent for my music. There's no money up front unless it's some kind of advance which there are numerous red flag strings attached.

As an ASCAP member for years now and NARIP, plus all of the related music business conferences that I've attended, the main take away from all of these organizations, not to mention the numerous attorneys that I've spoken with is never never give up ones copyright which as you know is a persons "Intellectual Property". In my eyes if I pay for a copyright it's mine, unless somebody is waving some pretty good money in from of me and even then, I'm not sure I'd sell out.

My point to all of this is that I'll admit it, I've become quite jaded with the music business and very disappointed in the way that artist folks are still being exploited.

The music business literally stinks to high heaven and it always has.

Being honest with you now at 77 yes I'd love to have my music or at least some of it go viral and such, but since I've been a performing musician for over 50 years I doubt that I'll be up my dream just because I haven't received any money from this whole music licensing racket.

One last thing...I read in Bill Board Magazine not long ago that currently, an independent songwriter/musician that has music posted on the various web streaming platforms needs to have their music (song) streamed ONE MILLION times in order to make minimum wage.

This is disgusting to say the very least.

Will I stop writing my music, recording and producing myself in my very nice comfortable home studio any time soon ? I sincerely doubt it, I love what I do, bottom line.

Much Peace, Charles Valona
