Sitting here on my bicycle
with one foot on the fence
waiting for my mom to come home
and looking for my brother Spence
You know he's only three
Prob?ly stuck up in some tree
I'd better go and get him down
before they all blame me
And then I'll go & hide
wait until they call my name
and call it loud
then I'll walk in proud
I think I'll go and hide
in a place where they won't
think to look for me
not up in some silly tree
Should I go for a hike?
swing on a tire
maybe fly a kite
or write a poem for you
No! I think I'll ride my bike
Dust & rocks fly in the breeze
I peddle fast past ponds and trees
to the place where monarchs go
around my head fly to and fro
the birds are flying in the air
they act as if they go some where
I know they don't because
I saw them yesterday upon a rope
Across the fields, across the sky
I look out there and wonder why
I love the world, I love this bike
I love the people in my life
My brother Spence, my mom and dad
who even love me when I'm bad
I have a home; I'm not alone
no matter where I go
