I Can't Rest My Heart

Story Behind The Song

I decided to write a contrast song between the heart and the mind and indicating how logic decreases while emotions increase. The story is one of psychology told from the perspective of a confused man, living a questionable lifestyle, dismissing the consequences of choice, when his poetry does not work anymore, he starts to force it, and he worries over his technique and Je suis dans la lune. The story is from the perspective of a singer being spacey with the song.

Song Description

"I Can't Rest My Heart" is a deeply emotional ballad that captures the raw vulnerability of heartbreak and the lingering ache of a love that cannot be sustained. With lyrics that weave secrecy, longing, and unshakable desire, the song paints an intimate portrait of someone caught between holding on and letting go. The refrain--"I can't rest my heart with you on my mind"--perfectly conveys the sleepless pull of unresolved feelings and the universal pain of lost love. The track's poetic storytelling and heartfelt delivery make it an ideal fit for film and TV scenes centered on breakup, heartbreak, or the end of a relationship. Its lyrical depth and haunting emotional thread resonate with the themes of vulnerability, longing, and emotional closure outlined in the brief. Whether placed under a quiet, introspective montage, a late-night confessional scene, or a pivotal breakup moment, "I Can't Rest My Heart" offers cinematic weight and relatability, carrying both tenderness and dramatic intensity in a polished, sync-ready package.

Lyrics

You know what we can do
As long as it's a secret
What I don't know is who
I trust enough to keep it.

Pre chorus:
We call it making love
But lovers end up crying
And I can't rest my heart
With you on my mind

Chorus:
A poet with a line
Needs to make it rhyme
And I can't rest my heart
With you on my mind.

We can give love a try
But too late or too soon
Another shooting star
Gets lost in the moon.

Repeat Chorus
